We are hosting a benefit concert for the Alzheimer's Aid Society and our featured performer will be Willie K direct from Maui. This event will be held at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville CA and Will be held on Sept 29th from 11 am to 8 pm the cost is $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Free Parking!!! All proceeds go to help families deal with the devastation of Alzheimer's. Come join 'Ainahau O Kaleponi Hawaiian Civic Club for a family weekend retreat full of Hawaiian culture and crafts! Bring the kids - this is great fun for the entire family!
Special guest Hawaiian artisan Valentine Ching from Honolulu will be teaching how to make traditional style 'Uli'uli using la'amia gourds, as well as Hawaiian cordage and braiding. All workshop materials are included in cost for retreat weekend!
There will also be workshops on Lauhala Crafting, Lei Hulu, making Kapa and Kupe'e making and other activities for the Keiki, along with Hula and discussions on genetically altered Kalo (Taro) and Health.
This 3-day, 2-night retreat will be on the campus of Chapman University in Orange, CA. The very reasonable cost includes your room (dorm rooms with own bathroom - based on double occupancy), linens, six meals, snacks, parking, and all workshop materials! Bring your family and participate in a Hawaiian culture and crafts weekend - talk story, kanikapila, and have an all around great time!
